 After seven years in prison, Jason was released almost two years ago. With limited job prospects, he joined our landscaping enterprise to start earning money, with a goal of saving up for a house. 

Then he was injured on the job. And not just a cut or blister—he had to undergo surgery. For a couple of months, he couldn’t work at all. 

But he was learning about the power of mindset when faced with setbacks, the power of resilience, and the power of trusting in God. Instead of taking a “woe is me” attitude or throwing in the towel on his goal, he doubled down. 

He spent that time encouraging others and serving in the ways he could. He learned leadership skills and grew his knowledge in horticulture and plant husbandry—something we now do with our entire team. 

Not only did he recently close on a house, but he’s now our second-in-command at JUMPSTART Landscaping. He’s passing on what he’s learned to new residents, upskilling our landscaping workforce. 

Because our goal at JUMPSTART Landscaping is to train premium workers so we can attract premium customers. If someone just wants their lawn mowed for as cheap as possible, we’re not the right fit.
